Scones Ingredients 2 c all purpose flour 8 T unsalted butter, frozen 1/3 c sugar 1/2 c dried fruit (if using) 1 t baking powder 1/4 t baking soda 1/2 t salt 1/2 c sour cream 1 large egg Tools Measuring cup, measuring spoon, baking sheet, whisk, bowls, knife 1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees 2. In a medium bowl, mix flour, 1/3 c sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt 3. Grate butter into flour mixture on large holes of a box grater. Use your fingers to work in the dough. Add fruit if using. 4. In a small bowl, whisk sour cream and egg until smooth. 5. Using a fork, stir sour cream into four mixture until large dough clumps form. Use your hands to press the dough against the bowl into a ball. 6. Place on floured surface and pat into a 7-8” circle, 3/4” thick. Sprinkle with remaining sugar. 7. Cut into 8 triangles and bake for 15-17 minutes and cool for 5 minutes.
